Back at the BBC (slight return)

Martin Belam  by Martin Belam, 24 July 2007

Tomorrow will be quite an odd day, since, all being well, for the first time in 18 months I will be commuting from East London to West London, to the BBC's offices in White City, to sit down at my new desk in my old office.

And putting up with the genius decision of returning to London just as the Victoria Line starts going to bed early.

It is just a brief return though, working on one specific project.

In a 'full circle' moment, I shall be re-joining the Search team at the BBC. I started there in 2000, and worked for the best part of three years as Registration Co-ordinator, Search Engine Analyst and then Assistant Development Producer.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing some old friends, and hopefully making some new ones too. And, I'll finally be getting a chance to work with some of the people on the team who I know very well, but who I haven't work directly for, or with, before.

So, if you see me wandering around White City tomorrow, don't get a fright, it isn't the ghost of BBC staff past coming to pay you a visit.

I also feel the need to take the opportunity to reiterate that currybetdotnet is a personal website, and the views expressed here are my own, and not those of my past, present or future employers. Or re-employers.

Especially not the opinions I've expressed about the BBC over the last 18 months.

Heh. Know the feeling! Hopefully see you at some point tomorrow or in the time you're around (how long is that?)

Your TFL link isn't working: I think you meant this

HTH HAND

Good luck!

If your travels take in Kingswood Warren (for your sins!) before the end of September let me know.

Equally, may have to catch you for a coffee if the wind blows me towards W12.

So I did - thanks - fixed now.

"Especially not the opinions I've expressed about the BBC over the last 18 months."

Why, are you going to 'back off' now that you're back?

Ohhh man - I love your BBC rants, it's all good. :)

Heh, heh. I rather feel that discretion might be the better part of valour for a few weeks ;-)

Keep up to date on my new blog
