Why my Doctor Who blog failed
Why my Doctor Who blog failed by Martin Belam
This article looks at the Doctor Who Blog website that I set up in November 2003, and examines the four chief reasons why I believe that it failed: through mistakes in putting the content together, not having a proper marketing plan, choosing the wrong technical platform, and finally, picking a topic too close to my day-to-day work. In the final part it extrapolates these into four rules of thumb for setting up a new website, whether for corporate purposes, or for a hobby site.
