  • Don't forget, if you are one of those people who subscribe to the currybet blog using RSS, but find the daily link round-up irritating, you can now subscribe to this feed instead - http://feeds.feedburner.com/currybet-without-linklog - and you'll get all of the content except my 'links for...' posts
  • There are still a couple of places left if you want to join my blog training day next week. The day long course is aimed at "new and aspiring bloggers, or companies just beginning to dip their toes into the daunting 'blogosphere'". You'll learn how to get your blog found, tools and techniques for finding a network of blogs also discussing your topics, how to create a distinctive personality for your blog to aid recognition, how to blog in a way that generates attention and responses, and finally we go through some techniques for solving some of the common problems that your blog will encounter.
  • "Unbeaten Leeds United play improving Norwich City in a meaty League One match tonight – but the Guardian will not be reporting from the game because, we were informed this afternoon, we have been "banned" from Elland Road". I love Leeds but it has been years and years of ownership woe now.
  • "This feels like some kind of emergency, and it is not clear to me that our legislators recognize that. The first instinct of journalists is to reject any kind of subsidy. I can well believe that instinct is more pronounced in the U.S. than in Europe. But print is declining faster than digital—particularly in a recession—can compensate for. There are things that societies need—including systematic coverage of public authorities—that new digital initiatives cannot yet adequately provide."
