One interesting thing I noticed when doing my recent survey of newspaper subscriber numbers in Google Reader was to do with the Daily and Sunday Sport.

They themselves don't seem to have any feed format subscribers - but that didn't stop some feeds turning up when I was searching Google Reader. A couple of RSS feeds with a Russian domain name were using the Sport's brand in the sub-domain of their URL.

Sunday Sport hijacked

Newspaper phising via RSS? It seems a niche market to aim at.

Needless to say, I didn't actually check the content of the feeds in question. With a .ru domain name, and aiming to catch people looking for The Sunday Sport, I figured it could only be NSFW.

If everyone suddenly went blind, how long would the Internet survive, and could you still publish news on it?

The Express makes a twit of itself

With professionals of this quality, who needs 'citizen journalist' enemies?
It is hard to argue that ethics and quality set the 'professional journalist' apart from the amateur blogger, if the 'professional' keeps publishing articles so wrong that they have to be deleted.
