Forthcoming events

The first London IA night of the year is on 18 January, at the Sense Loft in Soho. The talks will be:

  • Sjors Timmer: Designing the design process
  • Alexander Baxevanis: In praise of side projects
  • Mary Hamilton: Verbs. Zombies. UX.

We are experimenting with the way we do the tickets. They will be available from 9 January at noon. Tickets are free, and there is an unlimited number. On the night it will be first-come/first-served. If the loft fills up, we’ll have to close the doors.

Unfortunately this month London IA clashes with Hacks/Hackers, which features Rupert Brun, Head of Technology, BBC Audio & Music and Simon Kelner, former Editor-in-Chief of The Independent and i, talking about The Journalism Foundation.

Forthcoming talks

I’m confirmed as speaking at a few events in the early months of the year.

news:rewired - media in motion - I’ll be taking part in a panel on Social Media Optimisation with Nate Lanxon of wired.co.uk, Chris Hamilton of the BBC and Darren Waters from MSN. My focus will be the Guardian’s Facebook app. The event is in London on Friday 3 February, and tickets are £130 (+VAT) - available here.

On March 8 I’ll be talking at an Arts Marketing Association “Press and PR summit” entitled “A collaborative future for arts and the media?” event at the Museum of London alongside Paul Bradshaw. The afternoon will also feature arts journalists and critics facilitating round-table discussions about how arts organisations, PRs and news organisations can best work together in the digital era. Tickets are £147 +VAT for AMA members or £207 +VAT for non-members and available here.

I’ll be in Minneapolis in May for Confab 2012, where I’ll be talking about giving content a second lease of digital life. The impressive roster of speakers includes Karen McGrane, Dan Roam, Ann Rockley, Kristina Halvorson, Erin Kissane and Lou Rosenfeld. Early bird prices are available until the beginning of March. Tickets are available here.
