I'm beginning to not *get* politics in this country. As I understand this story, everything I have ever written as a possible option in my "to do list", then not acted upon, has become a "secret plan". Don't we want our politicians and civil servants to actually consider a range of options before they make decisions? When did it become a sign of weakness to look at alternatives?

"When even the film industry begins to worry about our ability to concentrate, it is time to start worrying. [David Kirkpatrick indetifies] what he calls a 'snack-culture sensibility'". Seemed interesting, but I only skim-read it etc etc. I've made this joke before haven't I?
