Over the last two years I have provided consultancy services to a series of clients, including:
The Guardian
As Search Product Manager I have led a user-centred design process to re-invigorate The Guardian's site search, bringing improvements to both the user interface design and the technical back-end. The project deliverables included a functional spec and set of wireframes for the new service, as well as an in-depth study of existing use of the service, and the commissioning of a research piece to support the project.
BBC & BBC Worldwide
I have carried out several consultancy projects for various departments of the BBC over the last two years. These include:
Newspaper Licensing Agency
I advised and facilitated a product design workshop to help inform the NLA's ongoing product design and web strategy for aggregating and making available online their British newspaper content archive.
National Museum of Science & Industry
Working with Rattle Research I contributed to the information architecture documentation and solved findability problems for the Museum’s educational resource portal.
Moo.com
I have assisted the online print company with their SEO and internationalisation strategy.
Lakeland
I have an ongoing consultancy role with kitchenware and household goods retailer Lakeland, advising them on the SEO and usability of their e-commerce website. I have assisted them in managing their Google AdWords campaigns, and advised them on other internet marketing initiatives like affiliate marketing and Yahoo!'s Search Submit programme.
Rattle Research
I have an ongoing consultancy role with the Rattle Research digital agency, providing Information Architect services on demand, including wireframing and site analysis, as well as producing classification schemes and controlled vocabularies for e-commerce sites.
Chinwag
I designed and wireframed an improved version of search for the leading new media recruitment site.

Day of the Triffids
